Villa Angheben, now Sparici Landini, called Dei Cipressi

Description

The villa, built in the late 19th century, is located on the top of Mount Corno, among flower gardens, and at the beginning of a two-row-cypress-lined ridge.

The complex consists of other properties, including a pigeon tower, located close to the main body.

In the inside there is a large hall that distributes, according to some Venetian building techniques, the passages and the links to the various rooms and to the bathrooms.

The ground floor is crossed by a stone band, which is repeated in the cornices and in the corners that define the building.

To protect the main entrance, there is a shelter whose main structure in made of wrought iron that recalls the shapes of Art Nouveau.

A large glazed veranda enriches one of the shortest sides of the villa, from where you can admire the beautiful natural setting that surrounds it.

The western side of the hills is a vineyard, but worthy of consideration is the fact that here they found the ruins of a Bronze Age-old village, the first human settlement in the area, along with arrowheads and weights for frame.

Some ruins of brick walls, found at the basement of the villa, confirm the strategic importance that the villa itself had during the battles of the Risorgimento period. In fact, there are other ruins of walls and tunnels along the whole mountain.
