The historic naturalistic path “Mario Franzosi”

Behind the Scaliger Castle, close to the sports facilities, there is the Historic Naturalistic Path “Mario Franzosi”, a nature park that winds along the banks of the river Tione and up to Gerla, halfway between Villafranca and Valeggio.

Here are some ruins of the Serraglio, the ancient defensive wall built in 1345 by Cangrande II.
