The parish church of Sona

The parish church of Sona is dedicated to Jesus The Saviour and the visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
It is accessed by a wide staircase and the portal shows on the top an image of the pre-existing temple, that is a crowned Madonna holding the infant Jesus in her arms. In the inside, the building styles of the altar of the Visitation and of the opposite one of Saint Rocco and Saint Alessandro are of particular interest.
The altarpiece of the Visitation shows the meeting between the Virgin Mary and St. Elizabeth with, behind them, their respective husbands Joseph and Zechariah. Other paintings and statues adorn also the church, including two 18th-century holy water fonts half-set in the wall.
Other works of local artisans, including the baptismal font, a wooden crucifix and two walnut confessionals serve as valuable ornaments to the church.
